Deciding to Work on The Battle of Adwa

Do not wait

4 weeks from now we will be at the 1st of March. The Battle of Adwa is a classic battle fought on the 1st of March 1896 between the Ethiopian Empire and the Kingdom of Italy near the town of Adwa, Ethiopia, in Tigray. It was the climactic battle of the First Italo-Ethiopian War, securing Ethiopian sovereignty.

I must admit that the idea to work on this story came to me at a bad time. With all the stuff going on in my life I have decided to work on this story. This story will be the focal point of all my efforts this year.

I made this decision because this moment will never come again. After this point any other coverage of African history I will undertake will feature a story of humiliation and defeat. That is why the time is now.

At my company, I have dropped everything to work on this. So if you like what we churn out as a company or think it is crap know that I did my best with what I knew and I worked with what I had in the time I was given.
